Can Mushroom Hunter guarantee that a mushroom is edible?
No. Photo-based identification can be wrong, and edible species may have dangerous lookalikes. Never eat a wild mushroom based only on an app or a photograph. Consult a qualified local expert.
How are mushroom locations selected?
The app checks mapped forest polygons against season, recent rain, temperature, humidity, forest type, polygon size, and—where required—confirmed host-tree data. A recommendation describes favourable conditions, not a guaranteed find.
Why can a recommended area disappear?
Mushroom Hunter rejects tiny or unknown forest fragments and may show no result when reliable habitat data is missing. Weather changes also affect the score.
Does the app reveal private mushroom spots?
Your journal is private to your account. Exact coordinates are hidden by default when you share an observation unless you choose to include them.
How do AI credits work?
One credit pays for one AI identification. Store purchases are verified by the Mushroom Hunter server before credits are added.
Which languages are supported?
The website and main app experience support English and Bulgarian, including AI result language.
Can I use Mushroom Hunter offline?
You can record observations locally. Network access is needed for AI identification, weather, map data, purchases, and syncing.
