Mushrooms: habitat, season and field planning
Different mushrooms need different forests, substrates and weather sequences. Start with the target species, then evaluate the habitat rather than applying one generic mushroom forecast.
Species-first planning
A species page answers a focused question: where and when is this mushroom’s habitat plausible? It connects host trees, forest type, recent rainfall, temperature and season without claiming that a score guarantees fruiting.
The current library begins with two important woodland groups. The porcini guide covers broadleaf, coniferous and mixed forest, while the chanterelle guide gives extra attention to lasting moisture and drainage. Both connect directly to the Where to go workflow.
