Never eat a wild mushroom based only on an app, a photo, or this website.

Use multiple independent checks

Keep the whole specimen, document every structure, compare reliable regional sources, and consult a qualified local expert. Children and pets must not handle unknown mushrooms.

If poisoning is suspected

Contact emergency services or a poison centre immediately. Do not wait for symptoms, do not rely on online identification, and keep a sample and photographs if this can be done safely.

Field safety

Share your route, check weather, carry water, appropriate clothing, a charged phone, and an offline navigation option. Follow fire restrictions, hunting notices, and land-access rules.
